Pond’s Resort on the Miramichi has offered classic fly-fishing adventures since 1925 and women anglers have always been frequent visitors to the river. For the last eight seasons, women from throughout North America have joined the fellowship of the fishing school dubbed Broads with Rods!

There’s plenty more to fly-fishing than unflattering waders and tall tales of “the ones that got away”. Broads with Rods delivers the spirit of fly-fishing as well as the technique of the sport. Participants taste the traditional cuisine of the Miramichi River, stay in classic riverfront log cabins and experience (if the fish cooperate) the challenge of landing a live, wild fish and releasing it safely back into the river.

In June, the experienced guides and fly-fishing instructors of Pond’s Resort on the Miramichi offers Broads with Rods 2011, a three-day fly-fishing school exclusively for women. There’s no experience necessary. Just bring enthusiasm to join the ranks of fly-fishermen around the world.

Broads with Rods includes instruction, professional guiding and personal attention, an orientation dry land session and three, four-hour fishing sessions, fishing gear if required, accommodations and all meals.  Fiddleheads Dining Room offers a menu where traditional recipes from the 1930s remain the basis of our creative country cuisine.
